HASSAN El JAY-31 (1).jpg
Hassan El Jaï is as unique a performer on stage as he is a personality off stage. his visit to Zaytuna College in 2016 captivated our students of rhetoric, enriched our community forum, and warmed our public audience.
It was a pleasure to introduce Hassan to patrons and sponsors of the arts, which opened doors for performances in muslim community centers, college campuses and private homes. muslims today must find ways to tell compelling stories about themselves, both for the sake of future generations and for making values central to our tradition relatable to others.
Hassan El Jaï has found a powerful way to tell these stories.

Hassan El Jaï is a mesmerizing solo performer who captivates his audience by becoming the characters that he is playing.
His performance at Zaytuna College in Berkeley was masterful. All the stories came to life as Hassan played many characters, brilliantly switching between roles in a flawless manner. all this he does in perfectly delivered english without the aid of costumes and props.
“The Forty Rules of Love” is full of magic moments that take the audiences to another level of experience, which is vibrant and full of surprises.
Not a single moment of dullness: the script, actions and dialogues weave a transcending journey of spiritualism, with Shams Tabrîzi’s wisdom spread through the entire performance.

Hassan El Jaï, with his acting skills, transforms from one character to the other through a remarkable stage act; taking the audience to the different locations of the story.
It’s a true achievement in the sense that his reading offers theatricality and creative capacity, without abandoning the literary form.
We can salute this accomplishment which has drawn the admiration of the sharpest and most passionate audiences.
